On Line check in for Cathay Pacific flights and any onward flights on partner (i.e. OneWorld) carriers is available 48 hours up to 90 minutes prior to flight departure. Facilities allow you to select a seat for yourself and your companions, change your seat, add or update your Frequent Flyer Number, print a Check-In Confirmation, get the latest departure and weather information, collect your boarding pass at CXpress Check-In Kiosk (where applicable) and drop your bags at the dedicated Online Check-In Counters at the airport.
The service is available for Marco Polo Club members, Asia Miles members, Registered Users who have booked online, and; Passengers holding e-Tickets issued by Cathay Pacific Airways (and that includes etickets issued on CX by travel agents). So, anyone with an E Ticket, then.
Do sign up for notiFLY Auto Messaging and receive flight updates and reminders for all Cathay Pacific and Dragonair flights you take. This is a very useful service and makes sure that you are notified of any flight changes (which can and do happen)
One important point that may be relevant is that no baby car seat can be used in the new Business Class due to safety and regulatory requirements. So, only one infant who is under 2 years of age and does not occupy a seat can be accepted when traveling with 1 adult passenger
Bassinet : All Cathay aircraft are equipped with special baby bassinets. A bassinet measures 76.20cm (30") x 38.10cm (15") x 20.32cm (8") and can carry up to 12kgs. Please note however a baby older than 6 months may feel uncomfortable in a bassinet. A request for a baby bassinet (BSCT) can be made at time of reservation if passenger is travelling with an infant. Sooner rather than later, though, as there are (as there are on any airline) only a limited number available.
Online Check-In is available for all Cathay Pacific flights with the exception of:
Flights departing from Bahrain, Colombo, Xiamen, Hanoi, and Langkawi (which are, basically, charter Flights) and
Codesharing flights operated by Cathay partner carriers. (That is (eg) a British Airways flight from, say, London to Manchester that happens to carry a CX flight number)
Above all, never, ever, ever check in anywhere, anyhow other than for the flight you are about to take. No matter what - UNLESS you are 150% certain that nothing will possibly ever change. You would not believe how complicated life can become if you check in for the return flight (thinking you are saving time) and then find you need to change it. Trust me.
