You can use Web Check-In if you have an ETicket for a flight operated by SWISS, you have an ETicket for a flight operated by Lufthansa departing from Switzerland, your booking does not include infants (0 to 2) and/ or you are travelling in a group of up to 9 persons.
If you booked your ticket within 23 hours prior to departure, you will be able to use Web Check-In when you have completed your online booking. You will see the names of the passengers on the booking and the list of flights that are open for Web Check-In. If you booked your ticket more than 23 hours start from your Web Check-In email (you can request this email when you book your ticket) or from the link to the check in pages from this page. Select your departure airport and destination. Enter your name and your e-ticket number. You can enter your credit card number or your frequent flyer membership number instead of your e-ticket number. You will now see the list of flights open for Web Check-In. If other people are flying with you, you can check in up to 9 people. Start with the first passenger, and then choose the option "additional passenger".
You can book your seat by clicking on "Seat map" next to the assigned seat number and choose your seat. If there are several of you traveling together, first click on the name and then choose the seat. If you want to change your seat later, start the Web Check-In process again. The flight or your passport details are no longer accessible. Should you have any questions, please go to the check-in desk at the airport. Some countries' immigration authorities (eg USA, Spain and many Middle Eastern countries) require additional information on passengers such as their passport details. Please have all passengers' passports to hand when checking in online.
Passengers flying out of Switzerland can also check in at more than 50 train stations. Choose your seat right there and receive your boarding pass.You will need your flight ticket or e-ticket and your passport (with visa, where required) are sufficient for your identification. SWISS First Class, members of Miles & More Senator have free check-in at the train station. SWISS Business Class, members of Miles & More Frequent Traveller: CHF 10 per piece of baggage and for us proletariat on regular SWISS flights: CHF 20 per piece of baggage or CHF 10 per boarding pass. The TWO LETTER Code for Swiss International flights is "LX" NOT "SR"
SWISS defines unaccompanied minors as children between 5 and 12 years of age, unaccompanied by an escort aged 15 or above and children between 3 and 5 years of age with escorts aged between 12 and 15 years of age. Children between 12 and 18 years of age also come under this definition upon their parents' request or if there are doubts as to their fitness to travel.
The flight can only be booked by the parents or the person picking up the child at the destination and CANNOT be done online. Please prepare all necessary travel documents. Charges are as follows: CHF65 - Within Switzerland and USD50/ EUR 40 for direct flights within Europe. Flights with a change (transfer) in the itinerary, CHF125 and for intercontinental flights, USD99/ EUR80. The charges will only be levied once in the case of children travelling together.
