Above all, never, ever, ever check in anywhere, anyhow other than for the flight you are about to take. No matter what - UNLESS you are 150% certain that nothing will possibly ever change. You would not believe how complicated life can become if you check in for the return flight (thinking you are saving time) and then find you need to change it. Trust me.

If you are new to online check-in then you may want to read some of my notes, first!

SMS Check In Facility - To take advantage of this, you need to register for a personal flight alerts profile which is accessible when you log in to your KrisFlyer account and access "My Booking Alerts" . You will be able to use this service if you are a Singapore Airlines PPS Club or KrisFlyer member. Please ensure that you always quote your membership number every time you book a flight. In other words, you can only use this if you have a SQ frequent flyer card.

All Internet check-in services are available between 2 and 48 hours prior to flight departure. Internet check-in is available to all Singapore Airlines passengers with the exception of: Passengers under the age of 17 who are travelling alone (unaccompanied minors), passengers under the age of 17 who are travelling without passengers above the age of 17, passengers who have indicated for special or with medical assistance to be provided, passengers travelling in a group of 10 or more and passengers who have a preceding flight on the same booking that is not operated by Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines have Self-Printed Boarding Passes. You can print your boarding pass after successfully performing Internet check-in. Once your check-in is confirmed, you will be given the option to print your boarding pass. To do so, make sure you have the following FIRST, otherwise it won't work: Adobe Acrobat Reader software, a printer with minimum of 300dpi resolution, A4 or Legal Sized paper, and that your pop-up blocker is disabled. As with other systems, you (usually) only get one shot at this, so do check first that the thing is switched on!!

This facility is available to Singapore Airlines flights departing from Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Adelaide, Amsterdam, Athens, Auckland, Bangkok, Barcelona, Beijing, Brisbane, Cairo, Christchurch, Colombo, Bali, Frankfurt, Fukuoka, GuangZhou, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Jakarta, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Lahore, London, Melbourne, Manchester, Manila, Milan, Nagoya, Nanjing, Osaka, Paris, Penang, Perth, Rome, Shanghai, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo and Zurich (except flights bound for the United States of America). More stations will be added progressively.

For passengers with special dietary requirements due to medical or religious reasons, we offer a wide selection of special meals that will meet your needs. Please place your order at least 24 hours before the flight departure through our reservations office or your travel agent. Special meals include: Religious - Kosher, Muslim, Hindu, vegetarian
Medical - low/high fibre, low cholesterol, gluten-free, Child, Infant, and Baby meals, and Cultural - Japanese, Chinese, Oriental. Always remember, if you order a special meal, you must make yourself known to the cabin crew. They may have 5 Hindu Meals, 3 Low Fibre and a child meal, but they do not know who for. Unless you say something, you will get missed - do so at the start of the journey.

In-seat power supply is available for your use. Through the USB port located on the new Economy Class seat personal console, you can access business software that allows you to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations effortlessly. These new cabin products are fitted on Singapore Airlines' new A380 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Available only on selected flights.

The unrivalled space between each seat, ensuring you direct access to the aisle, is a hallmark of a 1-2-1 forward facing business class cabin layout. All the conveniences you would expect in an office are provided for in a centralized, all-in-one business panel, which includes an in-seat power supply and USB ports. These unique features, along with built in business software in every seat, allow you to work on office documents, even without a laptop. All you need is a portable USB flash drive. And when it is time to unwind, a wide array of captivating entertainment options from KrisWorld await on an 15.4 inch wide LCD screen. These new cabin products are fitted on Singapore Airlines' new A380 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Available only on selected flights. First Class, by the way, is stunning. There are a total of 8 seats in the First Class cabin.

Singapore Airline's dedicated website for the A380. Click on the image to go to the site. This is an exciting aeroplane. Personally, I would prefer not to fly in one just yet, as it is all rather new technology.... a bit like the Comet was....
