Above all, never, ever, ever check in anywhere, anyhow other than for the flight you are about to take. No matter what - UNLESS you are 150% certain that nothing will possibly ever change. You would not believe how complicated life can become if you check in for the return flight (thinking you are saving time) and then find you need to change it. Trust me.

Turkish Airlines On Line Check In
Online Check-in is available for all passengers who have a ticketed reservation. Station list of Online Check-in can be displayed on THY internet web page: www.thy.com. Online Check-in process starts 24 hours before flight departure time and ends 90 minutes before flight departure time. Maximum 8 passengers in the same reservation record (PNR).
The travel class seat plan will appear on the screen according to choosen passenger and flight sequence. Passengers are able to choose their seats on the seat plan by clicking onto the desired seats. If passengers have connecting flights all seat plans to the related flights will appear in sequence and all seat requests can be finalised like this . Passengers, with pre-selected seats via initial reservation, can see their seat numbers next to their names, but will not be able to change that seat selection during the check-in proccess. Those passengers can change the selected seat by using the seat change link, at the end of process screen, if requested.
After confirming the check-in process, there will be a screen which gives information of suggested time of arriving at the airport as well as the passengers flight route, check in counter number (for getting boarding card and checking baggage). An email address and/or mobile phone numbers can be entered where the Online Check-in confirmation can be sent to.
Any "Special meal requests" must be submitted at the time of booking or at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of your flight.
Pregnant women can fly up to the 28th week of their pregnancy without a doctor's report. Pregnant women expecting one baby can fly with a doctor's report that states that they are fit to fly by air carriage between 28-36 weeks. After that, they are no longer allowed to fly, even with medical clearance. Pregnant women expecting twins or more can fly with a doctor's report that states that they are fit to fly by air carriage between 28-32 weeks. After that, again, they are no longer allowed to fly, even with medical clearance. Medical clearance must be dated 7 days prior to the flight. The doctor's name and surname, diploma number and signature must be shown clearly on the medical clearance
INFANTS: One adult can escort one infant only. Another escort is required for the second infant. Escorts (except parents) must be older than 18 years old. Newborn babies can not be accepted for travel within first 48 hours after birth and babies older than 48 hours old and younger than 7 days old traveling for medical reasons are accepted if they have medical clearance stating "fit to travel by air carriage". After 7 days of birth and under 3 years old can travel with their parents. An escort can not be provided. After 7 days of birth till 7 years old, children are not accepted without an accompany (family) adult.
Children between the ages of 7 and 12 can fly on Turkish Airlines flights without being accompanied. Minors between 3 and 7 years old can travel with parents/appointed guardian or, on request, an escort. Minors between 7 and 12 years old can travel unaccompanied but, if requested, an escort can be provided. An escort can accompany a maximum of 2 minors. On request from parents travelling with infants under 2 years of age, an escort can be provided. Escorts must be requested at least 48 hours before the departure time. The language of the minor must be notified and all expenses must be covered by the passengers. The accompanied minor must be handed over/welcomed by, parents/appointed guardian. If an accompanied minor is handed over or welcomed by an appointed guardian, authorization from a notary public is requested. The escort must be at the check-in area at least half hour before the departure time and the parents/appointed guardian have to stay at the airport until the flight is airborne.
